“Solace for the Afflicted” is a response to years of watching the conditions of the sick and the afflicted Muslims in the hospital environment and beyond. The moans, the pains, the grief and the lamentations were quite unbearable, and the mind was gripped with obsession. If writing, at that time, was a task, then getting the written material to the dejected Muslims who needed it in form of a book was a greater task. Eight years after, the great task of consoling a friend battling with cancer and his immediate family, forced me to 'dig out' the Manuscript I had written while I was in the medical college.
